It's between your windshield and engine bay. Big piece of plastic covers it, allows air in for HVAC

Yes

-Remove wipers
-Remove washer line connect
-Remove 5-6 clips from cowl to firewall
-Remove side covers and small torx under them (x2)
-REMOVE THE CENTER BARB

-It should lift off then. Be careful, dont force it.

Some very good advice in this thread. How far you go depends on your goals and skill level. I cleaned everything and every place I could get at. Painted frame rails replace all the plastic loom. All the ABS wire loom just crumbled to the touch and replaced that too. I even polished the paint on the firewall as I knew I'd (hopefully) never have another chance...

Whao that is pretty far. I left my AC and power steering in. I don't have a fancy place or tools to do things like I see some guys on here do. It's a normal house garage and a craftsman tool box. Most I've ever done to a truck is heads and cam.
