No just that one looked like that. I still need to check the other side. When I installed those plugs about 20k miles, they were already gapped to .040 I think.

I would def get a scope in the plug hole and check it out.. Hard to say exactly what happened, till you can see that piston.. I pull a valve cover, check for a dropped valve also. Prob not the prob, but worth a shot.. BUT DEF GET A SCOPE IN THERE

I checked the rest of the plugs this morning and checked the gaps. The rest looked good. The truck seems to be running good so far. I don't rule out any other problems though. I'm going to run to my mechanic today and get him to check the valve pressures and see if he finds anything. He didn't have a scope so I'm going to spend the day looking for somebody who does. I've got my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I also expect the worse. If the pistons and cylinders look good and it turns out being the valves, I might go ahead and do an upgrade.

Are those copper plugs? If not get some TR6's.Could heat and detonation close the gap like that?
If your motor is alright, I would get a real tune.Do you have a wideband?

After checking the plugs I went to search the local autoshops for a borascope and didnt have any luck finding one. But on that ride the damn service engine light came on. The code this time was PO0440 stating that I have an EVAP small leak/no flow condition. Not sure if I knocked something loose while checking the plugs or not. The indications stated 1. Defective or loose gas cap.
2. EVAP canister or hose cracked-not connected
3. Purge or vent solenoid defective
4. Vacuum leak at engine.

Any ideas?

Also when I stopped at the chevy dealer they told me a piece of carbon could have broke off bending the plug like it did. He sold me a can of this carbon cleaner stuff to spray down in the cylinder. I'll wait a while before I try it but I don't think it coud hurt. I was suprised they didnt have a scope.

So let's get this all straight...

-You have a blown truck

-you don't have a wideband

-you don't have a boost/vac guage IN the truck

-you ran low grade fuel

-you ran HOTTER than stock plugs

-you heard detonation and still told someone to run the **** out of it anyway

Did I miss anything? Sounds like you need something stock anyway... Not intentionally being a dick dude, but if you're going to own and modify something like this, sounds like you need to know more about it... Putting hot plugs in a blown motor tells on you...
