I will deffinately find out what he did. I'm going to call him and find out later. When I brought it in, I had 3/4 of a tank and when I got it back it was the same. I never checked the mileage though. The mechanics there are pretty responsible when it comes to their test drives. I live just a couple of houses down from the shop. I see them test driving all the time. They stay extremely busy so it's possible he didnt even test drive it.
With the new fuel pump issue, I do have a booster pump that is also installed. It's the one that came with the radix and mounts by the filter.

Ok now, I hear you guys about the low octane issue. When I drove it off from the shop, I did stop at the store and buy two bottles of octane boost. I had 20 minutes of driving time before the guy even got in the truck. After that there was 10 minutes of test driving before he stomped it to the floor. I think the octane would have been ok by then.

your radix likely origionally came with a 255gph pump upgrade kit,
what did you replace it with.
could have run lean under boost and broke top of # 7 piston,

I hope it's something else though...

^^ nailed it.

First of all, octane booster does nothing as far as I'm concerned. Second is how much money do you think you'll save using lower grade fuel? It's only $5 for a full tank difference between premium and regular. 3rd. The tune supplied from Magnuson is pretty mild, so unless you pulley'd down without retuning I'd agree your problem was a lack of fuel.
Not trying to be a dick (although I excel at it)

Pull the plug and get a boroscope in the cylinder.

And never let someone test drive a F/I application that is detonating. If I test drive something and I"m told not to floor it for some mechanical reason. I'm not gonna want to buy it.

But I think we all agree, fueling was a problem. At least the guy can get it for a lot cheaper now.

Well everyone I appriciate the advice and the sarcasm. I want everyone to know, I really havent had pinging issues while running unleaded plus even though it was usually mixed with supreme. The very few times I heard light pinging, was at hard acceleration with crappy gas and I mean crappy. Those couple of times octane boost helped. When I heard it this time I did add it again. It just didnt help or I had other issues like the fuel leaning out.
Anyway, The specs on the new pump were 85-100psi and 30-35gph.

Just spoke with the mechanic. They lowered the tank with the fuel in it. No pcm changes were made. and a short test drive was made through the arking lot. No road driving was made. I will go there later to check my fuel pressure. He didnt have a scope. I'll have to locate one elsewhere.

So you upgraded the pump originally. and then you put the stock pump back in it?

I had added the booster pump with the radix. The stock pump was still installed with it. The only reason to change the stock one was to fix the fuel guage which was jumping from full to empty all the time. Well it did fix the fuel guage.
