WTF...lol ooookay. Yeah what kb said. Paying 75 to fill it up and drive for 4 days vs. 37 bucks for 2 days...pick your poison.

btw, to the ones killing the pump by sucking air...it's more of the matter that the pump overheats as well. Fuel keeps the pump cool.

It's easy. Fill up when you get to 1/4 tank. Once you have had to change one of these fuel pumps out you will never even get close to letting the warning light come on. Call it preventative maintenance.

Yeah, keep it full. A stock for stock swap isn't very hard, but $300 isn't worth it.

I learned the hard way not to trust the light. just fill it back up when you hit between 1/8 to 1/4. as far as the question in the title "What is truely empty?" if it won't start, its truely empty.

Ive had that light on and the needle down low for like 2 days before, and I'll go fill up and only take like 23 gallons. From what Ive read, our tanks are 26 gallons.
i made it 70 miles before i died i can tell u that

dont run it on empty though fuel is what cools the fuel pump
well hell dewmanshu beat me to that but still thats why my cuz has went thru 2 because hes a cheap *** and rides around on the light all the time
