Hey all, I recently came across these 1 piece headlight conversion kits on another forum so I did a little research of my own. One thing I'm not clear on is the question of do I have to change my grill out with this? I really would prefer keeping my stock grill over the flashy billet grill I see everyone installing with it.

No, your stock grille will not work with those lamps. Maybe you can do some cutting and hack something together, but I don't think it will end well for your poor truck. Personally, I'm not a fan of that style headlights, but it isn't my truck so that really doesn't matter.

That wasn't the news I was hoping to hear oh well, looks like I'll be sticking to these stock lights. Nothing against them, but no one around my area has them and I thought it would be interesting to try them out.

That is one ugly grill, looks like this little project turned out to be a flop for me. Oh well, thanks anyways guys

 

Most aftermarket front end conversions look horrible IMHO.

There's a truck around my town with a different version of this, which looked horrible, but isn't nearly as ugly now that he colormatched the grille. But that's the best I can say about it...it took some work just to stop being an eyesore.

If you like the looks of it, then don't let online opinions stop you. I'm not a big fan of aftermarket lights in general, but my K5 Jimmy has black "projector" quad headlights and HID's...so I'm not exactly practicing what I preach
