Replacing tailgate spoiler please help
Hey fellows was just wondering if anyone knows how the little octogon shaped bushing/nut goes in the tailgate on an 06 Silvy fleetside,Someone took it off and were putting a new factory one back on the truck, got all the parts from GM,but can't figure out how they stay in there so we can tighten the screws:bang:,there seems to be some kind of rubber on the shoulder of it,do you heat that up and push'em in or what?never installed one PLEASE HELP.

I dont know but probably like wall anchors. twist a couple of turns on the screw then insert into the hole and as you tighten it will expand to hold tight. just a gues as i have never seen one.

Thanks everybody .......I got it done......special tool required!
|
What were they, nut-zerts?
|
no....you gotta have a special type rivet gun to do this with,I forget the name of it but most bodyshops have this tool, they make a standard set/and a metric set,and our trucks require the metric set for the threads in the pieces that go in the tailgate, and you must have this tool to install these parts correctly, takes about 10 mins.....
