Angry Replaced steering shaft, still has ghetto noise

Yesterday my steering started doind that ever so common knocking noise when turning over bumps. After researching on here I found the TSB about it and went to the dealership to get the new part.

Well, I guess its soo common the service guy pulled a new steering shaft right out of his desk drawer to show me whats wrong. Anyway bought the new and improved one and put it on. And it still sounds like a piece of ****! I don't think it really had to do much with the intermidiate shaft. I can grab it and shake it around it has a lot of freeplay. And the upper shaft is riding on the bottom of the steering tube under the dash, I think this is where the noise is coming from. Had anybody had this same problem? Does your shaft have a loose fit?

Man, its not the shaft. Its the rack bushings. I had to put a new rack in my truck to get it to stop. But I did try the new shaft first and it didnt work.

How much did that cost? Where are those bushings? Already spent 90 bucks on that shaft. This money is supposed to be going to go fast goods! I hate cheap stuff that makes the percieved quality on our trucsk so low: parking brake, all these tsbs, recalls......hmmmm

I found the rack on car-pat.com. I payed $100 bucks shipped cause I was too lazy to drive and pick it up. The frikkin bushings cant be replaced is what sucks. So I ended up just getting a late model rack. Plus my steering wheels started to pitch off center for some reason.
