by pass oil filtration
 

what do you guys think of the idea ? Does anyone here have one on there truck ? i have a frantz kit on my gmc and a amsoil kit on my k5 blazer . the frantz kit i like better cause i can the the tp roll apart easy to see what has been filtered . i still change my oil about 4-5k just like the extra filtration . :D

I always used the BMK21 and BMK 23 using the BP90 bypass from amsoil on my last trucks.

I am sure I could dig up some UOA's but that was over 8 years ago when it was done.LOL
We had UOA's up to 18k with a 97 and 99 suburban with the L31 vortec with great results using Amsoil ATM 10W-30 along with there spin on full flow filter.

my amsoil kit was my first kit . then i found a frantz kit for 40 bucks on craigs list and slaped it on the z71 .

Any plans to do a kit on your current monster Charlie?

Neh not on this one.The oil is changed often.LOL Even running amsoil I still change it alot more often than most would,it's to cheap not to in my eyes.
Right now it has Chevron supreme iso syn,which has a nice amount of moly.I have had great UOA reports with this oil as well.But it does break down much sooner than the Synthetics such as Amsoil.
Now I might install one on my Tahoe.

Sounds good Charlie, absolutely nothing wrong with good preventive maintenance :thumb: I'm a fan of that practice also ;)

any thoughts on which kit filters better ? the one that uses toliet paper roll? or the amsoil ? I know when i first heard of the idea of using TP as a filter i was like WTF that sh#t is going to fall apart . but after thefirst filter change i was amazed at how tuff theTP got when exposed to the oil it was stronger then when dry .

I have used Amsoil, toilet paper and older style bypass filters. They all have worked good for keeping the oil cleaner and safely extending your oil drains as well. The TP and older style filters do not last as long as the Amsoils but that is not always a bad thing, as you change the filter and top of the oil your restoring the oil base by adding some fresh chemicals from the new oil. Makes for good maintenance practice while keeping the equipment in great shape.
