New Water Pump, new gaskets.. Still makes gurgling noise at idle... Help!!??
 

Well i replaced the water pump after finding that it was leaking from the front seal.. Replaced gaskets, and thermostat.. Flushed coolant.. Refilled with fresh (non dex cool) coolant.. followed air purge procedure..

Truck still makes gurgling noise at idle and just above idle.. I cannot figure this out.. Anyone have this?

I read somewhere of mention of a restriction that is made into the heater hoses and that some people say to remove that and some say to add another restriction to slow down the water thru the core..

I am just tired of listening to this noise.. Anyone help?

what exactly did you do to "bleed the air"

I followed the information i found on here.. flat ground.. fill system thru tank.. start truck allow to warm up by cycling RPM.. add coolant to just above full line.. Drive truck around.. check level.

Should i take this thing somewhere and let someone put a vacuum bleeding deal on there?

Just spoke with dealer and he mentioned that they "changed the heater core hoses to a new part #, thinks they made them different to fix this"

WTF does that mean?

i dunno i never had that issue.

i take the vent line off of the top of the heads (small line) and fill the water jug up until i get a full stream of water. reinstall the hose, fill the tank the rest of the way. then do the "turn the heat on" method. ive never had an issue with the way i do it.

Well to make it more interesting I bypassed the heater core alltogether.. same noise.. removed the main belt.. same noise.. got out trusty broom handle... seems to be coming from the front of the block somewhere.. no clue what the hell the noise is.. to me it sounds like a gurgle but it could be a dribble or burble... still I have no clue wht the hell it is..

Turned out to be the AC compressor clutch idler bearing.. took AC belt off.. no more noise.. I could hear it all the way thru the block.. mount and frame..

I have had stupid crap like that happen before, where you beat your head off a wall trying to figure it out only to discover something goofy. At least you found it.
