NBS/NNBS definition

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and have what many of you, I'm sure, will consider this a rediculous question; Just what does nbs and nnbs mean? Sorry in advance for my stupidity!

To add some more context these terms started on internet forums (like this one) in the early 2000s. At the time the 99-06 body style trucks were still new, hence NBS. That was baseline for naming the older generations and as we move further away from that it makes less and less sense. The 88-98 was the previous generation or Old Body Style (OBS). The 07-13s, the ones after the 99-06, were the New New Body Style (NNBS) since guys arent very creative.

yeah... woulda made more sense if contextualized by pics of

Square Body

and Old Body Style, which is consequently also square but not labeled such... because that'd be confusing. also sometimes called Original Body Style, though the silverado moniker started in 1975 (making the square body the actual Original)

It just takes a bit of critical thinking to see my title lines lmao

_zebra 01-19-2022 10:46 PM

that's why when GM transitioned from GMT800 to GMT900, they called the NBS "classic" and the NNBS "new body style".

this all making sense yet?
