Default looking for a cam + stall rec.

originally i was looking at just throwing a nitrous system on my ride but Ive decdided to take a break from my current career and take a managerial position with a pretty good pay increase so i will have some initial bonus money at my disposal to throw at my truck. so for now nitrous is out.

basically i have a bone stock 6.0 in a 2wd SS. I have long tubes/full 3 inch exhaust/plugs/wires/4.56 gears/locker/street tuned by blackbear & a fairly tight 2600-2800 stall.

im thinking that should i get a cam ill need a little looser stall but not completely sure about that. my biggest concern is my gearing is so steep already that even now on street tires when my converter flashes its already past the point of traction.

i also realize ill need to upgrade injectors as im already at 100 IDC currently.

so in a cam id like a fairly thumpy idle but like everyone dont want to give up much down low if i can help it. i guess im looking for the best bet cam matched with a stall that will still be fairly driveable on the street. its not my daily driver but i do scoot around town with it fairly often.

looking forward to everyone's suggestions.

i would go with either the F13 Highlift or F14 Highlift from Futral Motorsport in your truck

im pretty green about cams but that cam doesnt seem like it would fit well with the stock truck intake since the power band comes on a lot later?

I'm rolling a TR220-112LSA in my 6.0 ecsb truck. If you want to play and keep street mannors this cam won't let you down in a 6.0l.
It's a small cam for the motor but will keep your low end and get you moving pretty darn good.
I have not been to the track since my recent upgrades but before i went 13.5@100mph with bolt ons the 220 cam a yank TT2600 stall and sissy 3.42 gears. I was also out of injector at around 5200 rpms and untuned when it ran this.
Tunded and having enough injector it should have seen some 13.2's
With your gears i would think a high 12 would be doable if you can hook.
That was another problem i ahd my best 60foot was a 1.96 spinning for about 20foot out.
Hope this helps ya a bit.

IMO guys who are running the fastest on 6.0l in ECSB's seem to be running the 226cams. I would stay at that or smaller if you want to street it and still be fast.
Jump up to a cam in the 232 range and say byebye to low end power unless you drop the hammer.

Also i am right now running a Yank PT3200 stall as of about 4 days now and it's a great stall.
I don't know it's true 1st gear flash because no matter what i do i can not make it hook on the street with anything over 1/4 peddle. Stupid 20's suck lol.
But i can ease it down in first and it would seem to flash to about a 3400 then once i get into second it goes straight to 3500 plus which is nice.
I'm also only running 3.73 gears and i would imagine with a gear as tall as yours it should be like having a little tighter stall until you drop the hammer.

Too big! I agree with the above posts. Stay below 226, more like 224 for a 3000rpm stall in the 6.0L

Myself i'd roll a 3200 over and over again. Looser yes but with his gears he won't notice the extra looseness from the stall.
