Ther Undercover cost less $, but is textured black not smooth painted like mine. I like lite weight, & I almost went that route. Paint won out.

Scott, I also didn't like the raised letters on tailgate on a Protec box. I like a clean, flat appearance unlike how Ford recessed Blue Oval into tail on the new ones.
www.checkerpro.com has some really nice low profile, and low weight bed covers.

i just picked up a 03 silverdo z71 with a pro-tec bed, i was wondering what kind of bed it was till i read this post

My step side is pretty damn heavy, i just took it off not to long ago and 2 men could lift it but ure both struggling duno about the fleet side though....

I ran one of those several years back on my 2000 s10 and for the money you cant beat it but it does require alot of prep work before paint.

also, my fleetside bed on my 95 S10 is heavier than my stepside on my fullsize....
