Just some feed back on an upgrade

On my 04 1500 ECSB Z71 with vacuum boosted 4 wheel disc brakes,

My pedal was always very soft and the over all braking was poor at best.
I did new fluid and stainless hard lines and saw no gain. I then put Suburban
Z71 rear disc and calipers on and again saw no gains. I was looking at hydroboost conversion when I found a write up on swapping in 2005 13"
front rotors and calipers. I just did that very conversion with drilled rotors
and EBC 7000 green pads as well as stainless flex lines. Holy cow is it so much better. I am amazed at the improvement in the swap. Hands down well worth the cost to do. It has a much better pedal feel and the braking is a night and day improvement. If you have crappy brakes this is what I would recommend as step one before going hydroboost or any thing else.

I replaced my 17" Z71 wheels with 18" wheels from a 2014 silverado so
clearance for me was no issue. I do not think it would work with a 16" wheel but a 17" should work. Side note: the 2014 wheels are not a bolt on the center bore is smaller on the new trucks by just enough that they wont just go on. I had to put them on the CNC and mill out the center about 0.080"
I also replaced my spare wheel with an 18" steel wheel from a Nissan Titan
as the 16" spare will not fit over the front or rear brakes so keep that in mind.

Just some feedback on this swap for any one thinking about doing it.
