just did my header install..10x easier then everyone says..
just did my header install with a buddy..took around a hour and a half. everything went smoothly, didnt remove anything out of the ordinary,
nothing broke, (except breaking a plug wire pulling it off). came out great. idk what the big deal is?? alot of threads talked about how hard it was. |
everything is easier with an extra set of hands to help.
i dont really recall people saying it was difficult. most people just post tips about the install. which coincidentally probably helped you with a smooth install. |
Maybe he is just that bad ass...
try it on a 4wd :P
NOt sure how hard it is on a 4wd truck but I have done it on a AWD TBSS and its not that bad at all.
Header swaps are never bad unless you come into problems like broken bolts or having to cut stuff out because of frozen bolts or cheap parts not fitting correctly. But usually with 2 people take about as long as yours did.
sorry if i offened anyone..ive just been reading threads on the headers install and ive just seen people say it took 4-5hrs and there was one post i read were the guy highly recommended taking it somewhere to get them installed...maybe i just had a good day:shrug:
I had a lift and it took longer then that to do, I am pretty fracking good with my hands... So you were able to undo the complete exhaust, take the old manifolds off, put the new headers on and hook it all back up in just 1.5 hours.. :hmmm:
saw zaw the exhaust off..that saved me a ton of time..
but manifold bolts broke loose with ease..i had the truck waaaay up in the air on jack stands, that made working under it and header installation fairly easy..instructions said you had to cut the o2 sensor wires and i never had to do that..there was plenty of slack to reach the bungs in the headers.
