Default I've been violated!!!

Saturday night I got my truck broken into, and they jacked the deck. Nothing else but the deck, minus a faceplate. I had my GTECH, tools, backpack (w/a TI-89 in it), bank statements, check stubs etc. and none of it was touched.

Anyway the point is how the tweakers broke in. I know this is common on the OBS trucks, but I thought GM would've fixed it for the NBS. They took a pry bar and stuck it between the door handle and the door. They pealed the metal back (think can opener), and from there they just unlocked the door via a screwdriver or something.

Now I know there's a company that makes some kind of plate that goes in the door to prevent this (can't remember the name ???), but I got's a thinkin. The door handles are the only major things left to shave, and that would eliminate this problem too. Does anyone have shaved dh on a daily driven ride? Just an idea, and "ya'll" need to watch out for this mode of entrance.

hmm...what else is in your truck j/k. Ya I have always thought that whoever steals stereo equipment has got to be the dumbest person out there. You steal a deck without a faceplate??? and what happens when you show 'the goods' to someone? They'd probably laugh at you and throw it at you as you leave

p.s. I have no stereo equipment for this reason. ...well, and it gets in the way of other important mods

How did he open the door with out the horn honking? If you unlock the door after the security system is armed wont the horn start honking?

I'm sure the horn did start honking, but who the hell thinks twice about car alarms these days anyway. Most of the audio stuff is pretty well hidden under my crap, save for the deck. And yes I had a lot of things in there, because I practically live out of it! Oh, I forgot about the 1st gen Camaro headers in the bed! HA! I'm glad they were dumb.

Jimmy Jammer....I think that's it, I wonder if it prevents this type of thing. I don't go to the track too often, but from what I hear they frown upon shaved door handles.

They also blew the radio fuse, so my guages didn't work. But I had those in my console, along with the kitchen sink.

Hey Ryan, sorry for putting this in the Appearance section....it was late and I was gettin' jittery!
So what mods does it get in the way of...hmmmm...does it involve a bottle of sorts?!?

My friend's truck got broken into last year that same way. He had a big *** hole just underneath his pass. side dr handle. They stole his deck and some cds and that was it. They did this in a mall parking lot during the daytime.

the **** that broke into my truck just smashed the window. He took nothing but my CD case and $40 out of my wallet. Left my gun, all my stereo stuff, oakley's and credit and bank cards. I wonder if it was worth the beat down he got when I caught him 2 minutes later That sucks man. Time to get that better head unit youve been lookin at I suppose
