Like the title says. How long do the let your truck warm up before you drive it? Main concern is the duel springs. Dont wanna risk breaking a spring. but it takes 20 min to get the truck to op temp. Its destroying my gas mileage.

I let it idle for about a minute before I move anywhere, and then I take it easy until several minutes after the coolant gets up to temp. Those springs will generate some of their own heat so you don't need to worry too much, just don't stomp on it backing out of the driveway.

Well the driveway is downhill so that shouldn't be a problem lol. Probably should of thrown in a 160 tstat while it was torn down.

I let my Vette and my truck both get to 140 degrees coolant temp before moving either one. Vettes got a 248/254 and trucks got a 234/228.

Same here. I just keep it under 3000rpm until the engine is up to temp. I don't even give it the minute to warm up unless its below 50 outside. Just be nice to the gas pedal until shes all warmed up.

About 10 mins here in the cold weather usually right at 160ish by then. In the summer maybe a minute or 2.

I warm mine until the temp needle budges into action, then drive it slow until its warmed to operating temperature. When its really cold I plug in the block heater for a few hours first.

Or i try and wait until it gets close or to lockup command temp before i leave, but i usually run out of patience before that happens..

Great question Andy. I generally let mine Idle for a minute and let it settle down a bit, but I just take it really easy until I'm at operating temps. Youre right though... killing gas Mileage!!! I think my idle may be a bit rich... i need to work on that.
