Default How big is the gas Tank in your 2500HD

How big is the gas tank in your 2500HD? I thought I read in a dealer broceher that the tank was supposed to be like 32 gallons. I can't find it right now.
Curious because when we fill up it seems like we only have 26 gallon tank like in my 00 silverado. Fill up rate is the same... same amount put in and the same amount of MPG Vs. my 00 c1500

Any body have any info on this???

I just picked up a used '02 rclb 2500HD and it has a sticker on the tank that says 34 gallons. Cost 85 bucks to fill it so I guess the sticker is accurate...lol.

short beds are 26 and long beds are 32. transfer flow makes a larger tank that goes in the stock location.

Intresting. were did you get that info? when I asked the guy at the dealer he said it could have been built either way but he would need my vind to see what the factory installed. I asked if it was possible to have gotten it with a 32 gallon take and he said he was not sure.

the length of the larger tank doesn't fit with the short box wheel base. gm and ford does this on all of there trucks. dodge may also i just don't have any experience with them. the aftermarket tanks that are larger go higher up(closer to the bed and cab floor) and hang down about and inch below the frame.

Thats funnny because some one that works with my dad got a 4x4 version of the same basic truck except ours is GMC and theres is a Chevy and his has the larger tank as he has to more gas in his. Maybe 4x4 vs 2x4 option???

Unless there is some new option that I don't know about, (not likely). the info above is correct.

Shortbed = 26
Longbed = 34

It's been that way since 1988, maybe longer.
