Heater Core Hose size, is it 5/8 or 3/4?

I gotta reroute my heater core lines are they 5/8 or 3/4?

nonnieselman 11-12-2012 12:33 PM

i used 5/8 and 3/4 all mixed up... :D

fastnblu 11-12-2012 12:36 PM

Corey, for answer, contact Redneck Engineering outta Mississippi. :redneck:

Oh, I see they already posted up. :P

fastnblu 11-12-2012 01:13 PM

Corey, I sent u a couple texts, does that help?
I've got a box of hoses at home, but won't be home for quite some time. And I have both sizes too. If I had em, I could verify to rule out, but 5/8" is it IIRC.

smokeshow 11-12-2012 01:14 PM

I have used 5/8 on all of my stuff.

nonnieselman 11-12-2012 01:15 PM

:D

ive used both.. but cant remember which way i adapted it to..

right now i have it goin to the passenger firewall and looping it by the coolant res and under the air box so it stays away from the turbo and down pipe..

You're as bad as me, I hadta go out in rain & look. I couldn't remember what I had changed on my Trick Tank to intercooler pump. I knew I also had 5/8" & 3/4" on there. :sunot:

Corey, PM sent.

nonnieselman 11-12-2012 02:11 PM

I unhooked my heater core and ran my w/a water thru it during the summer.. then changed it back to where it goes to my passenger fender.. so ive changed it a few times.. just cant rem what all fittings and adapters i rigged to make it work.

I got 5/8" hose but haven't installed them yet, so I can't confirm that it's the correct size.

I'm 99% it's 5/8".
If Corey responded to his PM's, he'd have the info. :punch:

One of them is completely 5/8"

The other one is that Y piece...from the pump to the y is 3/4", from one end of the y to the heater core is 5/8" and from the other end of the y to the coolant tank is 1 1/16 I believe.

Does the 5/8 hose going from the Y to the heater core come out of the Y? I tugged on it and it seems firmly in place, so I bought a 5/8 hose mender fitting instead.

Atomic 11-14-2012 11:55 PM

Yes. 3/4 on the single side, 5/8 and 1 1/16 on the split end.
