Default HD/ Denali Cluster

Not sure where else to post this, so it will be posted here. My question is, if I can find a decently priced HD or Denali gauge cluster with the trans temp gauge, will the trans temp gauge work in my truck without modification? I have heard that it will work on some, but would like to be sure before I buy one.

Yes, the temp gauge will work.

The mileage will read according to what is in the cluster, not the mileage for your truck. You can get this re-programmed.

There is also a possibility that your cluster is already programmed for a trans temp gauge. If you pull it apart and there is a light bulb where the tranny temp gauge goes then you will just need to add a stepper motor, needle and a seven gauge overlay. No bulb=no tranny temp gauge.

Yes it will work. I put a Cadillac Platinum cluster in my GMC(had it programmed for mileage and hour meter) and it works and looks great. I got mine off EvilBay.

I tried the cluster swap, but was unable to get it re-programmed. I found a guy in Ebay who would add the tranny temp gauge to my original cluster, as well as converting it to the white face SS gauges.
