Default Gauge Mounting

Where are you guys mounting your gauges? I need to mount two gauges and thought about two things. Either the Socal diesel overhead billet mount, or having someone fiberglass my console where the two cubby holes are and putting them there. I was going to just do the socal diesel way out of convienience but they are out of the shop till aug 1 and I want to order something now. Im impatient.....

PS not interested in pillar gauges.

I'd wait for the SoCal mount.. it'd be worth it IMO... those things go in clean as hell.

02 blue, where those gauges hard to wire up? my gauge is ghetto mounted, through the firewall out the fuse center and double sided adhesive in the corner. works well and its easy to mess with. hopefully only a temporary location but im cool with bein a little ugly. i also have a switch double taped to the side of the dash.

Which gauges? The interceptor gauges (pictured) plug into the dianostic port and have 1 power wire to them, so yes they were very easy. The others in the truck, boost, fuel pressure, and air/fuel were a little more involved, but still not to bad.

they just plugged into your diagnostic port under the dash? where did you find this set up? i was looking at so cal and liked they over head gauges like you have pictured for trans temp and AFR. im guess i would have to custom wire those because they are afternarket sensors? follow the a-pillar, through the cieling mat and into the overhead thing?

Depending on the particular gauge, and if its electric on mechanical, things will vary a little, but I used this guide to help me out.

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=349018

I got the interceptor gauges that are in the overhead from here

http://aeroforcetech.com/

I would go with one of these gauges over a tranny temp gauge since these will read tranny temp among many other things. You could also just upgrade to a Denali, Escalade, or HD gauge cluster and get the tranny temp gauge.
