fuel gauge question
My fuel gauge is acting up and sometimes it shows less fuel than what I have. If my low fuel message come up in the dash does that mean it's in my sending unit and not something wrong with the gauge itself.

Well, look at that. Keith, have you used this setup or how'd you learn of it? Cause after I had my cluster repaired, I think I had my fuel light come on 2x when I knew there was fuel in there. They sure do some dumb ideas.

I'd agree if the low fuel light is coming on when you know there's plenty of fuel, this will be a sender issue as you're getting an incorrect low reading. A flaky gauge that is caused by the stepper motor being bad has nothing to do with the reading and the low fuel light is independent of the gauge itself.

I wonder if there is a different sensor for flex fuel trucks and non flex fuel trucks. My truck was not originally flex but it is now and I try to avoid regular unleaded fuel as much as possible. Could the ethanol have messed something up.
