Default Folding center seat?

Truck is 2003 Silverado 2500HD 4x4, regular (single) cab. Current center seat is stationary, no folding backrest.

Question is: to install a folding/center console backrest, do I need the whole center seat assembly? Is the frame different? Or can I swap just the folding backrest with console onto the existing fixed center seat frame?

Should be a straight swap.

Are you saying I should be able to swap the folding backrest onto the fixed lower seat frame? Please clarify what you mean.

Yes, of course that would be a simple, direct swap. That is obvious and isn't what I was asking.

interested as well because the lid hinge on my folding backrest is busted & needs replaced. i'd rather not have to replace the whole jump seat.
