And for those that can not or will not:

Pull the engine
Build the engine
Re-Install the engine

Hours? I would estimate 20-30

Install a radix in 8-10 and drive it away.

Start it Saturday and drive it to get beer on Sunday......

I'd spend the extra time to save 3.5K

but thats me.

also, scream subtracted 100lbs off the front of his truck by going LS1. The radix is adding ? amount to the already heavy iron block.

Whoever's selling you a blower for ~5.5k is ripping you a new one. You need to shop around some more.

We started Saturday morning and finished Sunday night. Didn't even really try that hard. But I definitely couldn't have done it by myself. And, it did take a little longer than that to disassemble/reassemble the motor.

My *only* problem w/ the Radix kit is it's affects on the weak 60-e. Hell, my cammed 4.8 is really what did mine in, not the LS1. The Radix should be sold in a package with a built tranny or something!

LOL

After I built mine up, it would have held had it not have been for the PCM messing it up. It had some awsomse shifts and excelent holding power. The 60e can be capable of holding some power, but when it;s getting serious power to the ground, it will give out in short order.

Power adders can't be blamed for blowing up the 4L60-E. The trans will blow with a stock 4.8 in front of it.....Tranny life depends on driving habits and maintenance.

So that's why you and Flyer both swapped out to 4L80's? You can't tell me that the "off idle" torque of a Radix isn't worse on the tranny than a 4.8.....

In all honesty ... I fuly believe and cannot be convinced that my problems weren't related to a PCM problem. It would feel like I would just miss a shift when it went into 3rd, and from then on it went to ****. It did that once after I just flashed the PCM with the 80e. I almost pooped a brick. I limped back to the house and put the previous flash back in and it was fixed. I tried it again with some differences in the program, and it did it again. Put the previous file back in and it was all good. That was using EDIT v1.5, needless to say I'm sticking with 1.4 now.

My 60e build was standing up to consistant 12.6's. I was breaking my slicks loose when I would launch. After 500 miles and a couple of track visits, the low gear clutches still had the ink printing on the friction material. You could still see the waffles in them. Needless to say, everything still looked new in it except the 3rd gear clutches. When it would give way, it was always normal driving, NEVER under a power run.

Blown was blowing them up because he had to much shift kit in his. When it would shift, everything going on was to much for it to handle. If I remember correctly, his busted on the 1-2 shift.

Talking

i will be one to tell you that 60e's do not like 1-2 shifts. imo the 60e is worth about as much as a cheap frisbee.
