Default Dump $10k into what? My 84 Chevy or my 2000 Chevy.

I have two truck I want to build - an 84 lwb 1/2 ton is solid shape (bad trans) and a 2000 Chevy step ex cab w/ 5.3 is near perfect shape.
I have $500 in the 84 and $4k in the 2000.
I have a complete 2001 5.3 drivetrain for the 84 i have $300 in.We
I also have an excellent complete 6.0 from an 2001.
I really want a T56 in whatever I build.
If I do the 2000, the t56 swap will suck as I want that to be like an OEM install. However, the 84 will be part ratrod and racecar.
If you had $10k to play with, what would you do.

Spend it on the 84 and just keep the 00 as a driver.

I have an 01 2500hd crew 4x4 as my driver. 4k miles on a new motor. 10k miles on a new transfer case. 50k miles on the trans. Everything under the hood is new down to all the sensors.

So I have my driver covered. I also have a company truck I keep @ home.
Yes, I have 4 trucks @ my house.

I love my GMT 800's that's why I currently have 4 of them too!!!

What I meant was keep the 00 more of a driver. Don't go wild with it. Maybe some bolt on's.

The 84 will be more unique and at least if you had to for whatever reason, you would get more of your investment back on it.

I would love another squarebox. My last one ended badly in 2009. I'm still pissed off about it.

IMO,

Build the 84, sell the 2000 and put that money into the 84.
