I just replaced a waterpump and decided I might as well replace the fan clutch also. I got a Hayden and I wish I would have left my stock one on there. This pos is loud all the damn time. Sounds like a fricken jet airplane taking off from stop lights. I cant stand it and am looking into the eFan setup. This is rediculous. It wil even do this in the morning when I first start it and its cool out (less than 60 degrees). My stock one has NEVER been this loud, even in 100 degree heat with the A/C on.

I had a Napa HD clutch put on and so far so good, not loud at all really I don't notice it ever, my stock one would make the loud fan noise before it warmed up which I though was normal and this one doesn't even do that, very happy with it I idled it for 30 minutes never once twitched on the heat gauge, in 110° Texas everyday weather

Should I replace the cap on the coolant system? I don't want it to hold excess pressure and cause another leak

A cap is a cheap replacement- don't worry about it, just replace it.

Generally when they go bad they don't hold excess pressure; they don't hold any pressure at all which causes the coolant to boil off and leave the cooling system for good. And boiling off in the heads is bad juju.

I think the GMT-800 cooling systems are 13-15PSI.

15 psi, I picked up a cheap 7 dollar cap from auto zone, its not OEM and doesn't have the OEM cap instructions but it says its for 15psi and that's what my stock cap says and the look exactly the same so I replaced it, unless I should've used the 20 dollar dorman one instead?

The one you got is fine. As long as the pressure rating was between 13-15PSI and it screws down normally you're good.

The only real issue with the cheaper ones is that the seals will fail/rot sooner.

Well replacing it isn't a big deal, and its the motorrad brand cap
