Alternator adapter available for '05 harness to earlier alternator??

My harness and PCM for the '36 are from an '05 Silverado. Everything is pretty much the same as my '03 Avalanche and the wife's '04 Yukon XL except the alternator plug.

The '05 only has two wires going to the alternator whereas the earlier ones have three. If I didn't already have an '04 alternator I wouldn't care but since I do......

Is there an adapter available for this plug? Or will I have to buy another alternator?

I took off the alternator from my 02 before I sold it. I had the 145amp. When I bought the 04, I swapped the alternators around. There's no SES lights on the dash, but I haven't bothered to scan for codes either. Charges and works great no issues, so who knows.

The '05 has a completely different plug. That's what I'm asking about.

are you sure the plug is different? or just the wires on the plug?

i have a 05 alternator 145amp from a Denali on my 2001, the plug on my 01 has only 2 wires,

yesterday i swapped that alternator into my 04 and the only difference was that the plug on my 04 has 3wires but the plug is exactly the same...

i just did this yesterday and have had NO issues.... and i can defiantely notice that my voltage stays up higher than the 105amp one that i just took off...

same thing that I did . . . .1,000 miles on it with no issues . . .

Here's a diagram of the plug on my harness (from ALLDATADIY). My alternator matches the ones on my Av and the wife's Yukon (oval 3-wire plug). Anyone know someone with an '05 truck that can verify/disprove this plug setup?

Looked at an '07 Silverado today. Same 2-wire plug as the one in the picture above. Looks like I need to get a newer alternator.

I have seen 3 different plugs from 99 to 09 you can try and look it up and make your own pigtail adapter or cut off the plug and crimp one that matches your alternator http://acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/

My 05 CCSB 1500 2wd 5.3L has electric fans. The alt is 145 amp with the same small 2 wire plug in pictured in your post.

Hope this helps
