almost ready to dive into a low buck brake upgrade

WHELP...
Two weeks ago i tackled the brake swap!
I installed all new hard lines for the entire brake system. This took me roughly 2.5 hours to remove all of the old ones, and replace them with the new ones from GM, and replace the two on the rear axle.
I also installed a set of 5 goodridge braided stainless steel hoses, 4 new calipers (rear were tahoe dual piston) 4 new rotors (rear were tahoe 330 mm) all new pads, and new brackets.
The install went pretty well, with no issues. The pedal feel is AWESOME, and it will toss me out of the seat and through the window pretty easily. Definitely a good upgrade!

I did not use 05 front brakes, stayed with 01 front brakes. Since this was originally posted, I have deleted the ABS completely, and also swapped over to rear 05-07 drums to make way for 15" wheels for drag slicks.

Yes. Keep in mind that you will need 17" or larger diameter wheels to clear the 05' brakes. I have 18" wheels on my truck and they are a tight fit due to the offset. I still need to do the SUV rear rotors and calipers next.

When I had this setup on mine, I did stock 01 fronts, and tahoe rears. It was too much rear brake, With out AbS, it was a handfull when hard braking to say the least. I did end up putting in an adjustable wilwood proportioning valve, and that made a HUGE difference.
