3/4 ton of fun 03-12-2008 03:19 PM

All right i got questions

i have a 1985 chevy 3/4 ton, its been sitting at my gpas house for sometime due to low income so i could drive it around. he said he was going to do some tuneing and adjustments to the carb and the last time i went over the hood was cracked open and the air cleaner was off, so my question is what would i need to check since he hasnt been turned over in god knows how long. I did chang the sparkplugs and wires but thats all iv had time, i do know to change all the liquids and stuff. so just some tips and pointers would help. thanks

depending on how long its been sitting, id deff do any oil change, tranny flush, rear end flush, coolant system/radiator flush, replace all the coolant hoses, and check for oil leaks.

I'd just check the oil. check the plugs n wires. put a good battery in it and crank it over.
No reason to change all the fluids first if the engine seized up. Check the carb for Rats Nests. I've got a few vehicles that sit for years at a time before we start them back up.
