The pre-tensioner on the ford seatbelts is yellow connector. Heres the deal the airbag module sends a 12v signal during a deployment command that's it plain and simple. I havent looked at alldata here at the shop yet to verify but if and I stress if the caddy seats use pre-tensioners on the seatbelt and the resistances are exactly what the ford SDM is looking for then it will work. However, if the caddy seats do not have pre-tensioners then you lose the airbags in your truck unless you remove the pretensioners from your ford seats plug them in under your caddy seats and tuck them out of the way.

Couldn't he just wire a resistor in across the connector in the factory harness?

Theoretically Theres no clear cut answer. The seatbelt pretensioner is used in the passenger side gm seat and based off the diagram for the caddy stuff I'm going to say no way to make it work. Your options are a resistor MAYBE or easiest just remove oe ford tensionsers plug em in under seat and go. The caddy seats have inertia sensitive seatbelts that will activate in the event of sudden deceleration..

Sounds like your best bet is to wire resistors into the factory connectors. There should be a reading on the multi meter when you check the factory seats, if it's going to infinity either the factory components are open (which would have tripped an SRS light before you swapped seats), or you may have the meter on the wrong setting. Don't just jump the connector with a wire as you'll have no load on the circuit, and best case scenario will blow a fuse, and possibly pop the air bag computer.
