Aftermarket Trans Cooler Options/Opinions

Have a 2003 with a 4.8/4L60E and NO factory external Trans Cooler. Im located in South Texas where 100 degree weather is the norm for 4-5 months out of the year. Also looking to tow every now and then.....

Is there a Bigger Factory(ish) External Trans Cooler that uses the same mounts as original or a better Aftermarket Design that people are using with success?

TruCool 40k. You'll need the mount kit made by a member of the site. Search member made tools etc... Can't beat it.

FWIW, These are the factory add on kits if you did not have one.

That being said. The 40K tru cool is tried and true upgrade. Time 2 Kill sales a bracket mounting kit for them.

tru-cool 40K , don't look back. My temps don't go over 180* while towing at over 100* degress outside.

The 40k can be mounted without a kit using the supplied aluminum bar. I had to flip the lower bar and moved the temp sensor a bit. There was a little cutting and drilling too.

The trucool 30k i think it is (just over half the size of the 40k with the same fittings) , works well too, and basically gets mounted without any brackets...... i have the 40k on my silverado and the 30k or whatever it is in the yukon, though i think i have a cooler line leaking in the yukon.....

So i went back and found it, i used the 20k trucool in the yukon not a 30k, again about twice the size of a stock cooler, but costs a good bit less than the 40k.

I got a true cool 40k off eBay for 100 bucks, I used the mounting brackets and hose that came with the kit. It was in my truck in 45 min. Temps never get over 150 in 110 degrees. My o2 is it’s the best one to get
