Default 6.0 swap fuel question

Hey there guys, im currently swapping my 6.0 / 4l65e combo into an 02 shell. The truck currently has a faulty fuel gauge so i was gonna replace the sending unit in the tank, while I'm in there I'm wondering if i need to upgrade my fuel pump. I'm running stock injectors currently on the lq4 and need to upgrade to around #40. is a factory pump capable of providing enough fuel or should i upgrade? if so what would you recommend?

The lq4 has a beefy cam, milled and ported 317 heads, all the supporting mods and full bolt ons. I'm running a custom tune and at nearly 7k rpm the injectors are tapped. the trans is a fully built unit with a 3400 stall and the fuel system is a return style. engine is going to stay NA but i MIGHT add a bottle eventually to hit the 12.5 ET mark.

Ive done some searching and haven't found a direct answer so thank you guys in advance.

I'd go to a walbro 255 to be safe. Make sure fuel pressure stays right around 58psi.

The stepper motor for the fuel gauge could be bad. Mine failed, so I replaced all of them while I was in there. If the sending unit doesn't fix your problem, stepper motor would be the next step.
