5.3 vs. 4.8L Motors
Hello all,
I'm looking for a 5.3L motor. I will start with junk yards and move on from there. What part number/pulley setup/air cleaner should I look for so I know that I will be buying a 5.3L? Thanks |
why not look for a 6.0?
|
Heck yea, if your changing small blocks, may as well go with the big daddy 6.0
|
This motor will be a twin turbo going into a 1967 camaro. So, it will be the big daddy, the 5.3 big daddy
|
I am with the other 2 I would try to find a 6.0 while your out and about...
There is a 5.3 in the clasy's for sale here. John |
:stupid:
Why don't you just want to go ahead and get a 6.0L? |
5.7 and 6.0L are the "in thing", so I want something different
|
you'll be fine with a 5.3L.
they are so much easier to find than 6L, + they are way cheaper. |

try to find an 02 on up 5.3L.
one, they should have lower mileage and two, their pcms are suppose to be better than the earlier ones. most of them are cast iron w/ aluminum heads. the aluminum block version ones comes in 05 and up L33 that can be found in extcab 4x4's and also in trailblazers and buick rainers. |
