Default 454 lsx shortblock

Hello pt family

Quick question, did anyone know anything about these engines? Find someone selling a short block on the cheap and wanted to know if I should pull the trigger. Block and crank only have dyno testing and the crank is fully forged.
Hour hard would it to transfer stuff from my spare lq4 to this block to drop this in.

What bore is it? What do you want to transfer over? Covers?

You would definitely need a custom cam. It should really pull some stumps. Don't fantasize about peak power numbers and high rpm with those heads, though.

I want low end grunt the most. There's a guy at work selling one for 3k. Trying to figure out if it's worth it or not. Lq4 supercharged vs lsx454. Someone also told me that the block also has the 6bolt head pattern, so for a forced induction use I'd have to switch heads to prevent them from lifting.

i dont think the LQ4 heads would transfer over. IIRC the LSX blocks use a different head like the LS7's

i guess i was mistaken, the LSX blocks have 6 bolts per cylinder, the 4 bolt heads will work you just wouldn't be using the the 2 extra bolts per each cylinder.

Hes selling a 454lsx shortblock for 3k?

The block alone costs ~$2500...
