I have been looking to do this for a while now. My truck is a rcsb 04. The only seats I can find that are a direct bolt in would be from another 99-06 truck/suv. I did find some seats at my local salvage yard that I may try to use. They are from a 2009 set8 Cherokee,. They are almost identical in side but have way more hip and side bolsters. Way more comfortable, and supportive. Just have to figure out seat belts.

Don’t quote me, but I want to say that the 07-13? seats are a direct swap. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure a few people have swapped them into the GMT800

I think your right the newer truck seats will fit. It’s the integrated seat belts that make it difficult. If you going to go through the trouble might as well get some seats that are comfortable and supportive. I’m trying to figure a way to mount seat belts into the truck and still be safe enough for a car seat on pass side because my kids like to ride in the truck. I haven’t seen anyone who has mounted 3 point retractable seat belts in a gmt800. I may be wrong, I’d love to see some pics if someone has done it.

You may have issues getting it inspected if you change seatbelts

May not be an issue anymore as “most” inspection stations just scan for trouble codes and do a visual emissions check

I’m an inspector in my state, so “passing” an inspection is not an issue. My concern is the safety aspect as my kids will be ridin. Anyone have pics of how you added seat belts, or maybe even some kind of harness bar across the back of the seats, between the b pillars. I have an idea of how I want to do mine. Just want to see what others have done.
