LT1 Fans and wiring harness's (for pcm too)
**SOLD**
Took out the LT1 fans that have been cooling my 03' Silverado for over a year now. Kept the 6.0 cool around 187-192* no problem. Its already prewired with a manually controlled thermostat. Just hook up three wires and your good to go. I also have a wire harness built by White1 that allows you to wire the fans to the pcm in order for the pcm to control them. FYI: You'll have to have your pcm tuned in order to do so. $115 for the fans and normal harness (plus shipping) $150 for the fans and both harness's (plus shipping) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ForSale031.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ForSale033.jpg |

!! just what i was looking for! so the normal harness you are talkin bout is a manual thermostat that you clip to the radiator and that tells the fans when to come on? like the VSC that flexalite sells? i think i want both harnesses anyway. definately interested.
did you have problems with voltage surges when the fans kicked on? oh and off topic how did you like the terra grapplers on your '99? ive heard mixed reviews about them and am lookin at putting either them or yokohama geolanders on my 02 here in a few weeks. |
Actually Thiems has already called dibs on them via PM. He is waiting for the pictures first so it isn't a definate sold yet.
As for your question, yes the manual thermostat is basically the same thing as the VSC that flexalite sells. The voltage does drop some but unless your watching the gauge you wouldn't even notice. I'm only running the 105 stock amp alternator, I'm sure a 145amp would work nicely. EDIT: also, the fans w/ the manual control are wired so that both of them come on high at the same time. This is def going to draw some amps, but if I'm not mistaken these fans have the ability to turn on low and one at a time. The pcm harness may allow you to do this but I can't say for certain since I never used it. Maybe somebody knows and will chime in. I loved the Terra Grapplers as far as traction, performance, ride, and looks, but I hated how they killed my gas milage. They were extremly heavier than the stock 265's which I'm sure contributed to the problem. These were the E load range so that's probably why they were so heavy. |
'doh!! well if it falls through or if he doesnt happen to buy the harness made by white1 let me know
