It is a 278mm 2.0 str PT3800 power thrust (PT) almost the same as a ls1 car verter but was modified by Dave.

Well at 80mph I'm at about 2800 rpms with a 4sp auto and 4:10 gears and stock height tires (about 31 1/4").
What exactly do u mean shift extensions?

I believe by shift extension he is talking about how much the RPM's drop when shifting under throttle.

shift extension is rpm drop between gears. how much throttle did it take to get moving from a red light and at what rpm

i drove his SS when i still had my PI3600 in my truck, and my 3600 took 2000-2100 rpm to make the truck move vs his of 1700-1800 max. that converter drove wayyyy better than mine did for a DD.
im a picky when it comes to how my truck will DD, if i was in need of a converter id run this 3800 without a worry imo.

Thanks Niff. Yea from what I could tell to, b/w 1600-1800 to move. Never really paid attention to it. This was my first stalled vehicle and what took some gettin use to, was the lockup for me.
And as far as rpm drop, I'm not 100%. But it didn't drop much with my built tranny that's for sure. My guess is maybe 400-600rpms. Keniff, do u remember how much the rpms dropped?

prolly same as mine. shift @ 6800 itd drop to 5700-5800 and it was pulling again. so id give a rough guess of 800-1100 max its still a big diameter converter vs a 8"-9.5"

Oh ok. I was still shifting at 6500.
Yea ur stall felt a lot looser than mine. Driving mine, then hopping in urs, I felt the difference pretty good.
