Battery Box for Remote Mount Battery
Had this made at my work, it's a 1/2" Plexiglas (acrylic) battery box. Holes are already drilled for the battery cables and for the battery anchor bracket. There are two 1/8" aluminum plates (visible inside the box in the pictures) that I had cut. The intent was to place one inside the box and the other outside the box so that the clamping force of the bolts when installing would be on the aluminum rather than the acrylic.
Battery boxes on Summit run $80 or more for anything half way decent. This box is chemically welded and screwed together. The thing is pretty freaking stout. The stupid thumbscrews on top were $5 by themselves. $5 x 8 = $40 just for those things. $75 in person, $100 shipped. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4369.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4370.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4371.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4372.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4373.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4374.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4375.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...e/IMG_4377.jpg |
