Would you run this motor if it was yours? Just bought this 05 sierra - has about 30 minutes on this oil change- I wanted to double check what I thought I seen at the guys shop but it wasn't this bad- truck has oil pressure - I was going to just do a pump to get by---- what do you think?

black and nasty before. I had "there mechanic/ car washer" open the filter and I seen some of this but not as much. I ran the truck to put onto trailer and then off the trailer and just idle time on oil. I don't even think it has 30 minutes on it to be honest. I bought the truck knowing a motor would probably just go in but seeing it had oil pressure (40 psi at idle) I was thinking the bypass stuck open (oil pump) (The guy passed someone and it lost oil pressure) and was just going to change the oil pump and get by for a year or so till I have my barn setup..

If you don't care about the engine being rebuildable later on then run it til it quits. If you want to possibly salvage it then I wouldn't even start it up again. That metal is coming from somewhere and once its gone from the part it can't be put back, ie, cylinder wall, crankshaft etc...
I'd start looking for another engine or start yanking this one to rebuild.

I only See a few spec in the picture you posted. How did the new oil look???
I would throw some Cheap oil in, but toss in 1 Quart of tranny fluid and bring it up to temp and let it run for 15 minutes. Then cut it open and look again
The Dirt/Carbon is from the last oil change and poor maintenance.
I have seen pans pulled off of running motors with sludge sitting in the bottom of them.
