Default What head bolt's are 5.3 guy's using?! Help!

Ok..I have been through HELL trying to get some head bolt's for a truck I am doing...EVERYONE I have talked to said I can't use the 5.7 LS1 head bolt's...Why the hell not? they are the EXACT same bolt's arent they?...There is a set of ARP Pro series head bolt's up at a local shop...and I told them I was using them for a 5.3 heads and cam package I am putting on a truck...Well they said "we won't even sell these to you because they are the wrong bolt's"..WTF?? they think the 5.3 has NO relation to the LS1/LS6 lol..but it's pissing me off bigtime....Does anyone know if the 5.7 arp bolts are the same as the 5.3's?...Oh and get this..the damn dealership gave me head bolt's for a standard SBC lol..Anyway's this truck is just sitting in my garage waiting for the customer to pick it up...but the only head bolt's are the ARP's at the shop..the dealer doesnt have any stock bolt's either..Help me pleaseeee....Thank's,

Carter

I'm 99% sure they are the same bolts. Take a look at Scoggin Dickey's link on the right (SDPC) -----> I bought my head bolts from them.

I ha dsomething similar happen to me with spark plugs. I went in asking for NGK TR55, he asked what they went on, I told him what I was putting them on, and he said they aren't listed for that motor. I told him it wasn't a stock plug to start with. I said .. well I had them on my old truck, 2002 truck just like the one I told him about and he said, that's a different year.

I was thinking you dumb *** .. but I ended up getting the plugs anyways.

One more similar story. I was calling around for a 34" radiator. This one shop asked why I wanted the bigger radiator, and he told me that the size of the radiator has nothing to do with performance, and wouldn't help keep my blown 4x4 engine any cooler. The ***** wouldn't even give me a price for the radiator. I was mega pissed after that fone call.
