Water pump gasket question

Default Water pump gasket question

When putting the water pump on do ya'll use that gasket maker/sealer from the auto parts store on the block?

Did you not buy new gaskets? They arent really designed to be used with a sealer. If the orange o-ring section of the gasket is gone I wouldnt reuse them.

i put some rtv on mine. Dont think it can hurt

The intake is the same way, they have a orange o ring that works really well. Never had a problem with them leaking . If it is in tact you will not need sealant of any kind.
