VHP 080 cam gains in a 6.0ltr
 
i have searched for days and havent seen any numbers on the gains seen w/ this cam.
2001 2500HD 4x4 Crew cab.
bone stock. i'll be adding a Magnaflow dual in/out 22" case muffler next week. i'm looking at a cam for towing now. i pull 10K enclosed trailer 6-8 times a year.
what gains will i see? anyone have a before and after dyno?

Are we supposed to lie to you? Obviously no one who has this setup has seen this thread. No one is going to hide results from you man. Honestly, most people run bigger cams in their 6.0s because of its displacement. With that said, it should be a good cam for towing.

There are also tons of factors in determining how much you will gain. It depends who tunes it, and your supporting mods. You could see as low at 10 rwhp or as high as 35rwhp I'm sure.

Do it, assuming you have a stock LQ4 you're dealing with, you don't wanna dick around with headers, aftermarket heads, and other BS. The cam you have in question is the original one I was going to go with my setup but my plans have since changed. It should make for violent throttle response everywhere and stop pulling about 6000RPM's which is perfect for a street/towing setup. I'd do a cam/springs and catback install and get it professionally tuned. You should easily be at 360RWHP and 380RWTQ. Get great gas mileage and be able to spin the tires. Don't go past a 218 duration or under a 114 LSA if you want a smooth running, non-lopey responsive engine.

i have a 2005 chevy 2500hd 2 wheel drive extended cab and i have full bult ons ( lt headers, 3 inch exhaust with a magnaflow, 2006 electric fans,cai,and a baby cam 212/218@115lsa, with a custom tune) trust me with all this stuff in it it is still a pig to tow sompared to a diesel just my opinion i have lived threw it i regret now not getting a diesel. but hey it is fun to drive when im not towing

i'm not looking for lies, but all the searchs lead me to believe this cam is the shit, but no one can put up the numbers to back it up. i've sent an Email to them and after a week, i've gotten no responce.
i really do not want to tune it past getting TQ management removed or at least reduced.
