Valvetrain question for my new camshaft???
Alright guys I am getting ready to throw in my camshaft. it is a Comp Cams 212/218 112LSA the specs are ADV Dur intake-264 Exhaust-269 Duration at .050 is the 212/218 and the valve lift is .488 for the intake and .495 for the exhaust. My question is would it be ok to run the stock springs, rods, and lifters with this camshaft. I am asking since the valve lift isn't that high. I am not sure what the stock valve lift is but I am sure someone can throw me some intel on this. I just want to get my cam in and headers on so I can get it tuned.

In your case I would definetly recommend upgrading to the yellow ZO6 springs. You can get a set for 70 bucks. Thats cheap insurance compared to dropping a valve. Push rods are also a weak link in the motor. Trick flow sells 5/16 x 7.400 pushrods for 75.00. Lifters, rockers, keepers, and retainers should all be O.K.

either way, the yellow z06 springs will hold you fine. can be had for 50-70 bucks. |

nah.. he is just posting the wrong specs.
stock cam is almost that much. wouldnt be much point in buying a cam with 400 lift |
