valvetrain noise after oil change.
 

I recently switched my 4.8 over to Castrol Syntec 0W30 (European stuff). After the switch, I can hear a slight noise coming from valve train. I did some research before making my oil choice and found that a lot of people are running this oil in these trucks and love it. My question is I'm thinking it may be too light for Oklahoma heat? Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated!

Hmm, I'm using 0w 40 and I still can hear my valve terrain noise lol.

Ive been using Delo 400 15w40 diesel oil :)
works great and is cheap.
0w30 is some thin stuff.

How long have you been running this oil?

0w-30 is so thin (especially at start up) that it's no surprise you hear noise. Go with 10w-30 synthetic and call it a day. :)

Agree on it being too thin. Get som 5w or 10w and call it a day.

Is it only making noise on cold starts or does it go away after the motor warms up? 0-30 is going to be the same thickness as 5-30 or 10-30 after it warms up, it's only super thin when it's cold. Im running 5-40 rotella synthetic in mine, haven't had any issues so far but hell I wouldnt be able to hear my valve train over the procharger anyway.
