If you get the right cam and stall everything is possible.

Even though LQ9 BBQ Special is cheaper, you will have to open it up and inspect it before you can just run it... If it melted the plastic intake I beat it boiled the coolant and leaked through the head gasket... At minumum you will have to by head bolts, head gaskets, clean the headsup, definatly replace the valve springs, Hone the cylinders. At worse there could be standing water and rust in at least one of the cylinders that will require an over bore and new pistons. You will want to pull the back cover and inspect the oil diverter... it may be damaged from the excess heat...

ok today i gave the deposit on the lq9 and took a good look at it turned the crank and cleaned the ports out it looks good but i still have to take it all apart and see the inside.
also i want to cam it and but 600 lift springs and advice on the heads i was told that useing the 4.8 heads will work and boost cc what do you guys think

LQ9 is already Higher compression then the standard LQ4. The standard 317 that come on it are already work well. You can mill them if you really need to bump the compression. If you want a good bump in compression then you can step up to the 243 They have a smaller combustion chamber and flow the same in stock form. I would not Waist my time with the small bore 4.8/5.3 heads They dont flow nearly as good in stock form and have smaller Intake valves. You other option would be to get a set of reworked heads from One of our sponser. They all have nice Packages depending on the combination you want to put together.

It Has proven to be a good set up for most who have run similar set ups.
