Trucks Got Problems! Looking Under Hood And Found This. WTF!
#1
I'm looking around under the hood tonight wondering why my truck sucks and I found this connector unplugged. I don't have a clue what it is or why it was unplugged. It looks like it connects two harnesses together. One end goes into the loom that goes toward the back of the truck down the frame rail. Anyway, I plugged it back in and the truck still has issues, but what I'm wondering is what was not working while this was unplugged? No telling how long its been like that either. I don't ever remember unplugging it and it snaps together tight. The plug is located between the fuse box and the firewall down by where the harness goes into the fuse box. Here are some pics. Can anyone tell me what these wires are for?

I wasn't saying these wires specifically go to the back of the truck. I was saying that these wires go into the harness that goes to the back of the truck. I haven't looked around enough yet to see where all this loom of wires breaks off, or even if it does. I was just referencing that portion of the truck harness to help others know what the hell I'm talking about. lol!
The truck did originally come with a towing package w/receiver hitch and trailer light wiring.

Well it's got to be something that is related to the main fuse panel under the hood (which is where trailer wiring would come from). Anything else that is near the back of the truck, and was unplugged like that, would cause the truck not to run (fuel pump), or throw a code for Evap stuff, or cause your tail lights to not work.

I'll try to make this short and to the point:
Feb 17: Got truck running with new fuel system (Big external pump, converted to return style, fuel cell in bed, etc.) and new pulley combo. Truck idles great and seems fine.
Feb 18 (morning): Trailer truck to dyno, second pull nets 700 rwhp at 6000 rpm. I shut it off early to make sure everything was ok in the tune. Noticed a little dip in the dyno graph from 5400 to 5800. Every pull after that it lost power and the dip got huge. Logged TCC slip and figured the converter clutch was toast.
Feb 18 (afternoon): Pull trans/converter
Feb 19 (morning): Chris at Circle-D cuts converter open and everything looks perfect. Take trans over to Circle-D tranny shop and upon teardown they discover the 2nd and 3rd gear clutch packs burned up pretty bad. I told them to just fix the clutches and don't touch anything else. Chris puts the converter back together with a different stator (to try to help with new found power).
Feb 19 (afternoon): Pick up trans/converter and stick it back in the truck. Go for a spin and the truck is acting very strange. The converter locks up almost immediately in 2nd gear and its in 4th by 20 mph. Also the truck has a hard time reving past 4500 rpm sometimes.
Feb 20 (morning): head to SAR with truck (hoping to figure something out). Take Chris (from Circle-D Converter shop), Casey and a few others for a ride. Try several things in the tune. Nothing helps. Flaco came and looked at my scans from cruising the pits. Nobody has a definate answer as to what is wrong. Loaded the piece of **** back on the trailer, went home and finally got some sleep.
I have several ideas for things to try to fix it (most recommended by others), but nothing definate yet. I've got some things I can try tomorrow, I'll keep yall updated.
That ended up being way too long.....o'well

Most people don't realize how sturdy torque converters are. If there is ever a failure in your trans/ TC situation, it's usually something in the trans. Not blasting you buddy, just thought id put that out there haha.
Good luck fixin' the beast, sounds like something in the programming or tune or something.
