Default torque management help

GRRRRRRR, this isn't working well. i have serious TM, i went thru the steps and still have it bad, expecialy the closing throttle blade at the shift.

here is what i did.

1. Transmission -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Torque Reduction...Fill the whole table with zero's

2. Trans Calibration -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Upshift Torque Reduction...Fill the whole table with zero's

3. Engine -> Ignition -> Max Torque...Set it to 639,

4. Engine -> Ignition -> Torque Reduction...Fill the whole table with zero's

and it didn't seem to make any diference, this things falls on it's face HARD at the shift. here is a section of atap, remember i had it floored the whole time.

i dont know for sure parish but i was told that the abuse mode might pull timing from the motor. i was told to zero that table out too but have yet to get around to trying it.
i did the same thing you have shown and mine does not fall. it shifts real nice.shift and go.
hope this helps you.

Man .. that blows .. I'm gonna be pissed itf I can't get around that. Especially when the throttle starts to close at 95.

I'll be tempted to put a mechanical TB on there ...

When you figure it out please let me know-I have been living with the same prob since the Fall of '01! Superchips was supposed to take it out when I went to their facility and had it tuned back in Feb of '02 but they didn't. I have asked on here before what it would take PCM wise to convert to a cable but never got a definite answer.

Have you tried to change the shift time? Maybe put a vacum actuated shift solinoid in?

Engine--->Spark Retard Limit--->0 it out or if your brave put the max timing you see before a shift in .

That table is the ONLY thing that stopped my computer from pulling timing on the shift. I think it blew my trans up adding all that timing on the shift though.

Try it and let us know.

Hmmmm....just looked again and timing doesn't seem to be your problem until the computer starts shutting the TB blade. I think you need to convert back to a old physically linked TB. Maybe Speartech could shed some light on the TB closing problem and if there's a way around it through programming??

It sounds like this is going to be a problem with the new trucks. I was telling a friend about my truck closing the throttle some at 95 and leveling off at 100 and another friend that works at GM was there. He said it was a 'feature'.

I wish I had the 1.3 to look at so maybe I could help you out.

EEEEKKKKK. I really need to look at my throttle position. My 1-2 shift is sluggish. I was thinking transmsion, but it may be TM causing it. I have got timing through it all, but haven't looked at my TB position.

Manual throttle body looks very good to me right now.
