Top speed limiters??

This limiter is based on the factory tire speed rating.

While it may be ok to cruz over this limit from time to time - it is however NOT a good idea to drive over your tires speed limit for any extended period of time.

We had a Z71 with a SC on the dyno to tune it. At the end of the pull bout 110mph the rear tires looked like inch worms - 5 large hump sections around the sidewalll of the tire.

We were a little concerned about tire failure at 100 mph on the dyno would really do some damage!

Tire pressure was good - it was just the rotational limit of the sidewall.

This gave me a whole new perspective on the speed limiter set by the factory.

98 for both of my trucks when they were stock. It gets pretty scary past 125mph.
