Tips for denting header to clear steering shaft?

I used a black pipe and whacked pipe with hammer. Worked great.

+1 on heating it up and then placing a socket on its side against the primary and hitting the socket with a hammer. you could also use a jack handle instead of a socket. might be easier to hold in place if you have 2 people.
