Default Thunder racing or Comp Cams 220

I have done all my research using the "search" bar, but I'm basically just looking for people's opinions are from experience.....
What would you suggest....
TR220 on 112lsa or Comp Cams 220 on 112lsa?
Comp Cams 918 Springs or Dual Patriot Golds?
Titanium Retainers or stock?

Thanks in advance. I'm trying to get my parts list together.

go with the TSP 220/220.. much better IMO.. alot of people go with the TSP 220/220 .581/.581 112 lsa with xer lobes.. I personally am planning on switching to TSP 220/220 .564/.564 114 lsa with xe lobes, dont make it anymore so I"ll have to get it custom grinded.. Every truck I've seen with that cam has ran awesome!

I have pondered this myself, I am going to go with a 220/220 cam for my 6L build. I would have to ask you first, what cubic inch is your motor, what heads are you using and what intake manifold? The reason I ask is if you want a well balanced street machine you are going to want to keep your port velocity as high as possibly throughout the entire RPM range. If you have a 4.8L I would consider going smaller than a cam like this. I think you'll be disappointed in the low end performance if you go with anything larger. I would recommend going with something such as the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam. 207 / 220 .571" / .578" 1.7 ratio 118.5 It'll idle stock, it'll pull your truck nice through the RPM range up to 6200 RPM's or so, you can use the cheap $60 LS6 yellow springs and your stock pushrods. Cam swap on a budget and reliable as nails. My 4.8L 5 speed truck has a '01 Z06 cam in it with a catback and I did the tuning myself. It's a 14.5 second 1/4 mile truck which is nothing to brag about on the track but on the street it's a whole different animal. Some cars on my killed list are: a few early 90's 5.0 mustang GT's, 2 Impala SS's, a tuned and exhausted Silverado SS, more stock silverado's than you can shake a stick at, Honda civic SI's, etc. You may not get the track numbers you want with this cam, however you'll be grinning when you are sitting at a light with an idle smooth as can be without your truck loping and shaking every door and dash panel. Yet when you hit the gas it'll perk up and just want to go right off idle.
