Hey guys, new to the thread. Going through the same issues with my 2005 gmc sierra 1500. Did this issue ever get resolved? If so how?

I dont think he has fixed it yet, he has had the truck parked for 9 years hoping someone had a definite answer to the solution and would post in this thread.

lol I was just curious. I will probably start a new thread I’m sure someone else has experienced the same thing by now.

I had circle D make a new converter. I took my stock and circle D converter to work and measured them. Came up with some different measurements between the two. Called a few other converter manufacturers to verify specs. Hasn't been a problem since. Circle D took care of me! They went out of their way to make it right.

Thats good to hear. I just put in a circle D in my 4l60e and it’s doing the same as my previous converter with eating the thrust bearing. Do you remember what measurements you took and where the differences were?

I do not. It's been awhile. Have you checked the line pressure?

Not yet, I am about to test line pressure today and see where It’s at. I also put the aftermarket GAP -6an cooler line kit on it and a derale cooler after the first thrust failure. Thrust bearing clearance was at .004 when I put it together last.
